| | EXTRA, EXTRA...Read all about it...Turtle Trash followers...TURTLE TRASH IS ABOUT TO GET CLASSY. Yes indeed. Our faithful Longboat Key Turtle Watch volunteers dropped off their last batch of nasty trash. Now, it is time for the build to begin. Here are photos of the last trash haul from 14 August 2019. The biggest culprits this time were rubber gloves and plastic tie downs. We also had a good amount of children's toys. What is it Mom, Dads and Guardians that make you leave plastic toys on the beach? It is not that you can't see them...Bright Pinks/Greens/Reds/Yellows...or that they are too heavy. How about teaching your little ones, 1) to put their toys away; 2) about keeping our beaches and waterways clean; about sea turtles; 3) about doing the right thing. What a difference those small little lessons will make in the world. Stay tuned for photos of the Sea Turtle Sculpture build as it begins in a couple of days.
